Fourth graders who competed in the UIL Academic Contest held last December were recognized during a luncheon held Tuesday at the Vernon Elementary School Cafeteria. Parents of the students were also invited to the luncheon, during which all participants received a t-shirt and those who placed in their event received their medal and/or ribbon.
Representing the fourth grade at that UIL Academic Contest were: Oral Reading – Madilynn Mahan, Saydi Flynn and Isla Streit; Spelling – Brazos Eakin, Clara Perez and Faith Vincent; Chess Puzzle – Michael Taylor, Nillianna Hines and Berenice Serrano; Numbers Sense – Julio Soto and Gavin Bayer; Music Memory – Adryanna McGee, Zailey Camacho and Leah Minor; and Ready Writing – Brazos Eakin and Parker Ford.
Fourth grade sponsors were TiSierra White, Melissa Inman, Tori Hines, Jaley Willingham, Kirsten Atnip and Kelli Coble.
