A luncheon was held today for our VES second grade students who competed in the UIL Academic Contest for elementary students that was held last December. The luncheon was held in the cafeteria and parents were invited to attend the luncheon, during which all participants received a t-shirt and those who placed in their event also received their medal and/or ribbon.
VES second graders who competed in the UIL contest were: Storytelling – Averie Bavousett and Anna Genson; Chess Puzzle – Ainsley McIntosh and Anabell Perez; and Creative Writing – Lillie Hawkins, Ainsley McIntosh and Khloe Gray.
UIL sponsors for the second grade were Karson Wendler, Jaylan Thomas and Kelli Coble.
