VES third grade students who competed in the UIL Academic Contest for elementary students that was held last December were honored with a luncheon today in the school cafeteria. Parents of the students were invited to attend the luncheon and during the event all participants received a t-shirt and those who placed in their event also received their medal and/or ribbon.
VES third graders who competed in the UIL contest were: Storytelling – Camila Alvarado and Kree Kajs; Music Memory – Frank Ramirez, Jayme Pedigo and Maggie Colbert; Spelling – Camila Parmer, Shawn Duke and Kaizlynn White; Chess Puzzle – Aizlee McCoy, Rance Fisher, Josiah Barnes and Cadence Valverde; and Ready Writing – Camila Alvarado, Camila Parmer and Lucia Hamer.
UIL sponsors for the third grade were Savannah Sandoval, Kara Robinson, Michelle Hodges and Kelli Coble.
