Vernon ISD and Child Care Partners are working together to open a new child care facility in Vernon, and a meeting is being held at 6 p.m., Thursday, at the Vernon Elementary School cafeteria to provide information to Vernon residents, and to give an update on the facility. Officials from Vernon ISD and Child Care Partners will be on hand to talk about the facility and answer questions those in attendance may have concerning the new facility.

Vernon ISD will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule Monday, Feb. 12, due to the weather. VISD officials will be out checking road conditions early in the morning to ensure they are safe. Buses will run 2 hours later than normal.

Vernon ISD is keeping an eye on the weather.

We have some outstanding school counselors throughout Vernon ISD and they were celebrated throughout the week on their campuses as this is School Counselors Appreciation Week. Each campus did something special for their counselor(s), we just happened to be at Vernon Elementary when they were celebrating their counselor, Kelli Coble. Our other amazing counselors include: Ashley Bloom, McCord Elementary; Misti Dickerson, Vernon Middle School; and Sandra Kieschnick and RaeAnn Stevens, Vernon High School. Carol Taylor splits time between VMS and VHS.

This week, Feb. 5-9, is School Counselors Appreciation Week, and Vernon ISD has some outstanding counselors serving our students at all of our campuses. Mrs. Bloom, Mrs. Coble, Mrs. Dickerson, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Stevens and Mrs. Kieschnick, THANK YOU for caring about and helping our students succeed every day!! You ladies do indeed ROCK!!
