Over 220 local and area youngsters and teens attended the Vernon Lions Summer Tennis Camp held last week. Campers from 3 years old to 18 were divided into three different sessions that filled the courts at the Ruben Vargas Tennis Complex and spilled over to courts at Vernon College. During the summer, hours the general public can access to Leo Brittain Field at Lion Stadium will be 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday thru Thursday, and 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays. Gates will continue to be locked on the weekends.
Vernon ISD uses a communication program called Rooms to help teachers and counselors provide information on students and class/school activities to parents. While we post items on our Facebook pages and website, Rooms is the best way to receive information about your student and activities that pertain to them. Registration deadline to secure a Lions Baseball Camp t-shirt is Friday!!
The Lions Baseball Camp is set for June 16-18 at Jabe Brazzle Field. The camp is open to all incoming 3rd thru 9th graders. The focus of the camp will be the fundamentals of the game, and improving skills in hitting, throwing, and fielding, and -- FUN!!
