Don't forget -- tomorrow is the FFA Annual Plant Sale!!

We all know that it takes a village to put on any type of an event, but it also takes a leader. We would like to give Coach Edwin Bah a shout out for leading the way for our All-Star Olympics that was held here Monday for our Life Skills students and for helping take them to compete yesterday in Altus. We would also like to thank all the coaches, teachers, staff and students who helped make it a special day for our special students. I think we enjoyed as much, if not more, than they did. Seeing all of the smiles was priceless!

Vernon High FFA students work on putting the final touches on some plants as they prepare for the annual FFA Plant Sale that will be held tomorrow!!! The plant sale will begin at 8 a.m. and continue until Noon. There is an abundance of beautiful flower and greenery plants, as well as tomato and pepper plants.

Today is School Principal's Day! Vernon ISD has some outstanding principals who work hard to make their school campuses the best they can be. We greatly appreciate all that they do for their students, teachers and staff!!

We know it is short notice, but we're sending our Class 3A State Track & Field Meet qualifiers -- Kameron Plyler & Jackson Aydelott -- to Austin this morning. They will be escorted down Wilbarger Street at approximately 8:15. Please step outside and cheer them on!!

Under UIL guidelines, all incoming 7th, 9th, and 11th grade students for the 2024-25 school year are required to undergo a sports physical if they plan on participating in ANY school sponsored sport. Also included are any students in the 8th, 10th or 12th grade who suffered an injury that required surgery within the last year. Here is a great opportunity from Wilbarger General Hospital to get that sports physical for free. Vernon ISD athletes need to pick up the sports physical paperwork from their coaches or trainer Brian Weatherly.

As we starting looking forward to the 2024-25 school year, we would like to share the criteria for freshmen thru seniors to be eligible to take honors classes.
