Members of the VHS Class of 1971 Ann (Word) Wilson, Barbara (Brumley) Dunn and Rhonda (Garrison) Klappenbach stand next to the "Lion Tree" with VHS Librarian Gayla DeHoyos. The roots of the new “Lion Tree” in the Vernon High School’s new run deep into the past – back to the very first class to start their freshman year in the current Vernon High School building in fact. That’s because the tree, an artificial Christmas tree, and all of its decorations were purchased from donations made by the Class of 1971. To read more about the tree, follow this link https://vhs.vernonisd.org/o/vhs/article/1364040

Please remember that if you are going to one of our school campuses during school hours, you must have your driver's license or other form of photo ID when you check in at the office. Thank you for understanding and for helping us keep the learning environment for our students and your children a safe place.

Vernon ISD is currently taking nominations for our Gifted and Talented Program, which we have on each school campus.
