High school and Vernon Middle School students attended a Veteran's Day Program this morning sponsored by the VHS National Honor Society. The 77th Army Corp Band from Fort Sill performed and a local veteran spoke to the students.

The Texas Farm Bureau Game Balls were presented by Tiffany Rosalez, an agent in the local Texas Farm Bureau Office operated by Toby Kitchens.

Last week, the VMS 8th Grade Lions wrapped up their season -- which turned out to be perfect, as they went undefeated to finish with a record of 8-0!!! Congratulations!!! Great Job!! Building for the future!!
Some members of the VHS Class of 1966 toured the high school Saturday as part of their class reunion. The Class of 1966 was the first graduation class to attend the current high school building. Students moved from the old high school building to the new one in the spring of 1966 with 12 weeks left in the school year.

For VHS freshmen, sophomores and juniors who missed getting their school pictures taken, Lifetouch will be at school for retakes on Friday, Nov. 10.
Due to the Vernon Lions bi-district playoff game being played on Thursday, Nov. 9. The junior high girls' basketball games that were scheduled for Thursday have been cancelled so fans can go support the Lions as they face Paradise. GO LIONS!!!
Our Lions will take on the Paradise Panthers in a Class 3A, Division 1 Bi-District playoff game. The game is set for 7 p.m., Thursday, at Memorial Stadium. Vernon will be the visiting team. Tickets are $5 and must be purchased online at http://www.wfisd.net/tickets

The yearbooks include fall and spring UIL activities, all sports, prom and graduation!! There's more pictures than in previous years. The price of the yearbook is $60. All VES students were in the gym this morning listening to campaign speeches from members of the Student Council who were running for Student Council offices. One little sister wanted to make sure her big brother knew she was supporting his candidacy for Student Council President.

Vice President -- Chloe Feltman, Austin Lehman, Allison Ferguson and Landry Conley (not pictured);
Secretary -- Destynee McDonald and Corvyn Martinez;
Treasurer -- Beckett Bayer and Luke Parmer.
This morning the VES Student Council members gave campaign speeches as they run for offices on the council. All VES students will vote Monday and select a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer.
