Please see the attached message from our Superintendent regarding a social media post on Friday mistakenly referring to one of our local campuses. Please know the post has been investigated and determined not to affect any Vernon ISD campuses, but we will be monitoring the situation closely.
Vernon ISD is bringing in Dr. Harrison to talk to our students and community about bullying prevention. Dr. Harrison will be at the following locations on February 28.
- Vernon High School to meet with the students at 9:00am
- Vernon Middle School to meet with the students at 1:30pm
- Wilbarger Auditorium to meet with the parents and the community at 6:00pm
We look forward to working with our students and the community to prevent bullying.

Vernon ISD is working hard to make sure that our students and staff are safe. In addition to monitoring our visitors, securing our doors, and the other safety measures we have put into place, we also want to make sure that our students are safe from bullying. We here at Vernon ISD want to see our students succeed as much as you do. We want to give them the absolute best and are striving to improve every day. One of those improvements is that Vernon High School will be administering, AND paying for, the ACT exam for ALL of our 11th grade students at Vernon High School! We believe this is one more step towards setting our students up for success!

Meet my new friend Bentley. During my campus tours, I ran into this little fella and I was caught off guard when he said, "Hello Dr. Ward". These Vernon ISD kids are simply the best and deserve the absolute best that we can give them.

Dr. Ward, Vernon ISD’s new Superintendent wanted to spend his first day on campus with kids! Dr. Ward said, “This morning I wanted to meet kids and this particular student was the very first high schooler on campus.”
