The Lions Baseball Camp is set for June 16-18 at Jabe Brazzle Field. The camp is open to all incoming 3rd thru 9th graders. The focus of the camp will be the fundamentals of the game, and improving skills in hitting, throwing, and fielding, and -- FUN!! The Wilbarger Shared Services Arrangement (WSSA) office held a going-away party for two of their staff members. Diagnostician Angela Bradford is retiring, while Melissa Hearn, also a diagnostician, is leaving for another job. We at Vernon ISD thank them for the years of service to our students and wish them nothing but the best.

Vernon Elementary has scheduled two opportunities for parents to attend the annual Title 1 Meeting. The first opportunity will be at 4 p.m., tomorrow in the VES Library, and the second opportunity will be at 4:15 p.m., Wednesday in the VES Library. At the meeting school administrators will inform parents about the school's participation in the federal Title 1 program, explaining the requirements of the program and the parents' rights and opportunities for involvement in their child's education.
