Our Lady Lions wrap up their 2025 season today as they travel to Bowie to take on the Lady Rabbits. The varsity game will begin at 4 p.m., in Jackrabbit Gym, with the sub-varsity games to follow. Good luck Lady Lions!!!

Bryan Taylor was our top seller in our VES Big Kahuna Fundraiser. For earning the top seller spot, Bryan received the large dinosaur. Great job Bryan!! Way to go!!

Our VES administrators and counselors treated all the VES staff to an "Apple Nacho Bar" today to close out the week!

Students in Ms. Chavira's class went on a field trip this morning and visited a pumpkin patch. It looks like everyone had a lot of fun!









Here are a few sights and sounds from this morning's Lions Spirit Pep Rally. The Lions travel to Bowie tonight to take on the Jackrabbits in a District 4-3A, D 1 game. We hope you're hungry for soup next week!! Our 2nd Annual Soup Night is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 28, in the VES Cafeteria. We will be serving a variety of soups and cornbread prepared by our teachers and staff members. This is a free event for all of our students and their families. Students in our Gifted and Talented Program will also have a few science projects on display. We look forward to seeing all of students and their families at this wonderful event.

On Wednesday, our FFA Quiz Team, Avery Conley, Kenzie Dobbs, Lyric Thompson, Karson Rich, Bentley Dobbs, and Kenneth Cordero, competed in a Leadership Development Event invitational meet at Tarleton State University. The team placed 42nd out of 151 teams, and Bentley placed 87th out of 511 members!! Great job everyone!! The next invitational meet will be Oct. 31, at City View.

This Friday, freshmen, sophomores and juniors will have the opportunity to retake their school picture.

Just a reminder that our Vernon Middle School football and volleyball games are being played tonight in Bowie, along with our JV football game being played in Vernon.

With the Vernon's football game being bumped up to Thursday, our Lion Spirit Pep Rally has also been bumped up to Thursday. The theme for tomorrow's pep rally is "Memes." The pep rally will begin at 10:30 a.m., in Fulton Gym. The Lions will travel to Bowie for a district battle with the Jackrabbits Thursday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Students in Ms. Linda Hanson's Anatomy & Physiology classes returned to school Tuesday to find a "crime scene" in their classroom. The students became coroners, as they had to autopsy the pickles and determine the "cause of death." The exercise was a great way to combine learning with fun.








Our Roarin' Lion Band competed in the UIL Area Marching Contest Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls and received a Division 2 (Excellent) rating from the 3 judges. Band Director Jeremiah Hastings said he, assistant band director Matthew Golden and color guard sponsor Audrey Hastings are proud of the students and the hard work they put in this season. We agree!! We are so proud of the band and their directors. They've showed improvement every time they've taken the field and we know the future is very bright for our band program!!





FFA students showed their "true colors" last week as their official FFA jackets arrived. The jackets arrived just in time for the Leadership Development Event competitions. Some of our FFA students are competing in an invitational meet today at Tarleton State University, and will compete in another invitational meet in City View on Oct. 31, which will lead into the District contest set for Nov. 7 at Midwestern State University.
