If you want to keep your youngsters busy this summer, then Vernon ISD can help you out!! During the third week of June (June 15-18) VISD will be hosting some great educational and fun camps!! There will be science camps, art camps, cooking camps and a lego camp for a variety of age groups from kindergartners to eighth graders. Check out the info below. Members of our Vernon Elementary Student Council gave tours to our incoming 2nd graders Monday morning. The students were split into three groups, with the student council members with each group showing the students around and providing directions on how things work at VES. At the end of their tours, the students were given a sweet treat courtesy of our cafeteria staff. We believe our incoming 2nd graders are going to be a great addition to our VES family in 2026-27!

We will be celebrating our 8th grade students tonight at the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony. The even will be held at the Wilbarger Auditorium.

Our 4th grade students enjoyed their Field Day/Track Meet that they were able to participate in recently.

Just a quick reminder that this morning around 9:30 a.m. Vernon ISD will be conducting a Shattered Dreams event in conjunction with the Vernon Police Department and Vernon Fire Department.

The Vernon ISD Athletic Program is moving to the online program Rank One for all athletic paperwork. Parents, please review the directions for making an account with Rank One. If your athlete is taking advantage of this evenings' FREE sports physicals being provided by Wilbarger General Hospital, please take a moment to open an account and complete the paperwork. Every athlete who is entering the 7th, 9th, or 11th grade next year, or who suffered a major injury this season, MUST have a sports physical before they will be allowed to take part in any school athletics. The sports physicals will begin at 6 p.m., at the Doctor's Clinic, 4301 College Dr., the building just north of the hospital.

If you were one of the select parents of students in our Special Education Program who received an email about a survey in which Vernon ISD is federally required to participate. We encourage you to please complete the survey. Your feedback directly impacts how VISD improves special education services; supports students and families; and recognizes areas of strength across our district.
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is collecting parent feedback, and Vernon Independent School District is participating!
The survey only takes a few minutes to complete and your feedback MATTERS!!

Students in Mrs. Felicia Robinson's Foundations of Business Communication & Technologies classes earned an awesome honor this year for Vernon Middle School. Due to their hard work and proficiency, VMS placed 5th out of 107 middle schools across the entire State of Texas in the 2026 Texas Keyboarding Challenge! This accomplishment is a testament to the dedication, skill, and hard work the students and Mrs. Robinson put in this year. The honor not only reflects the technical proficiency of the students, but the commitment of VMS has to prepare students with essential digital skills for the future.

Tuesday morning, Vernon ISD will be conducting a Shattered Dreams event on the South parking lot at Leo Brittain Field at Lion Stadium.

Students who didn't buy a VMS Yearbook still have an opportunity to purchase one! For a limited time yearbooks can be purchased online and shipped to the student's home. Don't miss out on this wonderful memory book.
